Rendition of Psalm 43
This isn’t right, Lord. Vindicate me. Rule here. Strive with my rivals. Plead my case against a sea of enemies. Or is it you who has rejected me? If you are my refuge, Why do I go about mourning? If you are my safety, Why am I always in flight? Scatter light into the dimness. Shout out your truth, and I will follow, Groping through the darkling Until you bring me to your hillside city. I will haul myself up to the altar of God With the joy of one who has finally found home. On that day, I will sing again. But today, I am here Standing watch over my fitful, restless, slipshod soul. Why are you cast down, o my soul? Why do you roar and rage within me? Make your peace with God And wait for him. You will yet praise him. You will yet see him face to face.
