Note from Andy—The Plan Ahead
This is the shortest psalm in the Book of Psalms. We have already done Psalm 118 so from there we’ll tackle Psalm 119 (not only the longest psalm but the longest chapter in the whole Bible). Psalm 119 is an acrostic poem, with one stanza for each of the 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet. I’m going to spread the rendition across seven posts throughout February.
Then, we’re going to go straight into the Psalms of Ascent (Psalms 120-134) in March. They are the pilgrimage psalms, songs the Hebrew people would recite along the long—and sometimes dangerous—road ascending to Jerusalem. It seems a fitting plan as we move through Lent and into Easter.
Rendition of Psalm 117
May all the nations praise the Lord And all the people sing to him! For we are bound to him forever Through his relentless and enduring love. His faithfulness neither fails nor expires. Praise him!
Catching up with the Darking Psalter
If you are new to the Darkling Psalter, it is a project to create renditions of the Psalms (artistic rewordings based on the original Hebrew) and original poems to pair with each one.
Psalms with poems: 1, 2, 6, 8, 13, 14, 16, 19, 22, 29, 31, 32, 34, 38, 39, 40, 42, 46, 51, 53, 65, 73, 74, 84, 86, 88, 90, 107, 121, 123, 130, 131, 137, 142, 147.

"For we are bound to him forever" is a thought of unrivaled hope. And it sticks to the ear.
