Psalm 110—You are a priest forever
"The reign of those who have hated him, Destroyed his works, trampled his world, And devoured his beloved people Will suddenly end."
Rendition of Psalm 110
The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit here at my right hand Until I set your enemies before you As a footstool for your feet.” The Lord will make a scepter Sway from Zion, saying, “You will rule in the midst of enemies. Your people will be living sacrifices; The might of your army will be The rugged splendor of holiness, Rising like the dawn itself. The Lord has sworn and will not change, Nor check his course, nor break his word: “You are a priest forever In the order of Melchizedek.” The Lord stands at your right hand; He will crush kings on the day his anger burns. He will judge all things rightly. The reign of those who have hated him, Destroyed his works, trampled his world, And devoured his beloved people Will suddenly end. He will shatter the lords and leaders Who have lifted themselves up To crow over the land As though it was theirs forever. Even surrounded by enemies, Even in the wilderness they have made, Even when he is lifted up, My Lord holds the headwaters Of the River of Life. He drinks And all who are with him drink too.
