Rendition of Psalm 75Let the last word be thanks. Walk us in wonder to the brink Of your unfurling works— The long, last, true Tallest tale of your wisdom. The stacked pillars of the earth Stand steady because you hold them Even when the plain world slides all askew. Why do the wicked lift themselves up To stand stride and swagger?
This is so so beautiful. Thank you for your work.
I just lost two of my dearest friends this week, and this rendition of Psalm 75 is perfect for me today, especially these lines:
"Let the last word be thanks.
Walk us in wonder to the brink
Of your unfurling works—
The long, last, true
Tallest tale of your wisdom.
. . .
But I won’t hurtle any longer
Down the path that led us here.
God, end this momentum.
Still the forwarding world.
Tip us over and lay us down.
Lift us up."
