Was just talking with a friend the other day about deus ex machina endings and how often my longing for God’s salvation clashes with my dislike of deus ex machina (which God and I have often discussed, too). I love how these lines capture the essence of how the God of the Bible always shows up, even when He’s swooping in to save the day in unexpected ways.
These lines are really resonating today —
“My God is my help.
If I lean my needs onto him,
He will not disappoint me.”
As are these —
“I know that you will end the story
When it ought to be ended
And not before.”

I just wanted to drop in and say what a beautiful job I think you’re doing with these psalms. They are outstanding! Thank you!
Thanks very much, Liza!
