This brings a tear to my eye. It was a foundational psalm as we searched for property for Canadian L'Abri eight years ago and thought we might have to shut down. The "greater harvest" was truly prophetic. I like how it looks to the past "signpost" of God's goodness to gain faith for the future. Also, "Those who leave carrying their grief aloft/Like a bag of dark seeds" is very evocative.
I keep coming back to this. I am carrying my dark seeds of grief and this rendition gives me hope that someday that won’t be all I’m carrying.
This is the psalm of my marriage.
“‘The Lord has done great things for them.’
And he has, greater than we had
The strength to hope for.”
